The natural state for an Afghan Hound coat requires that you never clip or trim it. The coat should be thick, silky and fine but the saddle area along the back will be closer, shorter hair.
The Afghan has a very high grooming demand and must be thoroughly brushed on a regular basis, at least twice weekly, between full service grooms. The afghan should receive a full service, professional groom every 4-6 weeks. For more detailed care and equipment information please call and speak to our groomer!
