The Irish Wolfhound haircoat is fairly hard, and lightly abrasive. Areas of wiry
hair are likely, especially the eyes and below the mouth.The Irish Wolfhound should
be completely brushed out at least weekly to deter excessive shedding, tangling and
matting. Full service professional grooming is recommended at least every 8 weeks.
Protein rich shampoos can add body and sheen to the Irish Wolfhound coat.
Special care should be taken when brushing the Irish Wolfhound to go all the way to the skin, with the proper brush.
