The natural state for an Afghan Hound coat requires that you never clip or trim it.
The coat should be thick, silky and fine but the saddle area along the back will
be closer, shorter hair.
The full coated Afghan has a very high grooming demand and
must be thoroughly brushed on a regular basis, at least twice weekly, between full
service grooms. The afghan should receive a full service, professional groom every

Special care should be taken when brushing or combing the afghan hound to go all the way to the skin, with the proper brush. Some customers will choose a shorter, lower maintenance cut.
