The Australian Shepherd's coat is medium texture, straight to wavy. Weather resistant and medium length. The undercoat varies in quantity with variations in climate. The Australian Shepherd needs to be completely brushed out at least weekly to deter tangling and matting. Full service professional grooming is recommended every 6-8 weeks.
Protein shampoos are recommended for this breed.
