Although relatively easy to maintain the Bullmastiff still needs to be groomed regularly. The outter coat is straight, coarse and moderately short. The undercoat is dense, short and close lying. Regular grooming significantly reduces undercoat shedding on this breed. The Bullmastiff should be completely brushed out at least monthly to deter excessive shedding. Full service professional grooming is recommended at least every 8 weeks. This information is not for the long haired mastiff types.
